Description 

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) make up approximately one quarter of the U.S. population. Many face barriers that may make participating in physical activity difficult, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated the situation. This webinar outlines many of the barriers individuals with IDD face and equips physical activity professionals with the skills they need to tailor interventions for individuals of varying abilities. 

Objectives 
After participation, the attendee should: 

  1. Be able to define and identify IDD,  
  2. Understand the impact of COVID-19 on physical activity participation in individuals with IDD and  
  3. Utilize strategies to help individuals with IDD engage in physical activity.

This course includes a prerecorded webinar and a corresponding online quiz.
